On Friday, Normangee was able to grind out a solid win over Alvarado, taking the game 41-31. Given Normangee's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Alvarado is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Alvarado still got an impressive performance from Joslyn Jarmon, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 steals. Jarmon scored a full 29% of Alvarado's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Normangee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Alvarado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Normangee will be playing at home against Jarrell at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Alvarado, they will head out on the road to face off against Glen Rose at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glen Rose will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
