Basketball Game Preview: Bloomington North Cougars vs. Martinsville Artesians

The Bloomington North Cougars will challenge the Martinsville Artesians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington North has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Thursday, Bloomington North was able to grind out a solid win over Terre Haute North Vigo, taking the game 56-48.

Bloomington North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Robbennolt led the charge by putting up 20 points. The dominant performance gave Robbennolt a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Burton, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Martinsville walked away with it. They took down the Braves 41-26 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Artesians.

Martinsville's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Bloomington North, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Bloomington North didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Martinsville in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomington North since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
