Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Shelby Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 76-63 to Floyd Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (60), Shelby Valley still had to take the loss.
Magoffin County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Shelby Valley, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
Magoffin County lost to Shelby Valley at home by a decisive 74-59 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2021. Can Magoffin County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
