Despite the loss, Monte Vista had strong showings from Alex Marquez, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jacob Pacheco, who rushed for 89 yards. Marquez got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of50 yards.
Even if they lost, Monte Vista's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. John-Jake Naranjo was especially locked on to Alamosa's QB and sacked him twice. Naranjo's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making three total tackles.
