The Cienega Bobcats posted their biggest victory since December 13, 2023 on Monday. They blew past Rincon/University 78-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Evan Golembieski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Isaac Sdobnev was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cienega's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Rincon/University, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cienega won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Desert View at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Desert View has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25. Rincon/University won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Sunnyside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Friday.
