The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Sioux City East Black Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Sergeant Bluff-Luton was beaten by Bishop Heelan Catholic 60-28. While losing is never fun, Sergeant Bluff-Luton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Bishop Heelan Catholic is ranked sixth).
Meanwhile, Sioux City East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They breezed by Jefferson on the road to the tune of 57-17. Considering Sioux City East has won four matchups by more than 22 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sioux City East, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton beat Sioux City East 53-43 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sergeant Bluff-Luton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
