This season hasn't been kind to the South Effingham Mustangs, who are still winless after their 19th game. They lost to Glynn Academy at home by a decisive 87-71 margin on Tuesday. South Effingham has not had much luck with the Terrors recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, South Effingham had strong showings from Kaden Carter, who scored 15 points, and Marcus Campbell, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin McGuire, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
South Effingham dropped their record down to 0-19 with that loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Glynn Academy, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Effingham will take on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Evans presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Georgia (the Knights are ranked 191st, while the Mustangs are ranked 472nd). As for Glynn Academy, they will be playing at home against the Rebels at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Effingham County is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
