Harlem has been on the road for five straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Freeport Pretzels at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Harlem will be strutting in after a victory while Freeport will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Harlem had just enough and edged Belvidere out 48-45. The victory was just what Harlem needed coming off of a 69-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Harlem's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mason Walsh, who scored 7 points along with 15 rebounds and 4 steals, and Bo Beehler, who scored 12 points along with 7 steals. Mateo Perera was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Freeport was the victim of a tough 68-47 loss at the hands of Guilford on Friday. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Guilford is ranked 129th).
The losses dropped Harlem to 3-7 and Belvidere to 1-7.
Harlem beat Freeport 68-55 in their previous meeting back in February. Will Harlem repeat their success, or does Freeport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
