The Carson Colts are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the South East Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Carson suffered a rough 69-47 loss at the hands of West. While losing is never fun, Carson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 728th, while West is ranked 268th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jacob Ortega, who scored 19 points. He scored a full 40.4% of Carson's points, the 13th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Blake McCall was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, South East's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton. South East has struggled against Hamilton recently, as their contest on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Carson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for South East, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Carson strolled past South East in their previous matchup on December 1st by a score of 61-46. Does Carson have another victory up their sleeve, or will South East turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
