If the WestSide Renegades were riding high off their 95-28 takedown of the Van Bulldogs on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. WestSide took a hard 70-51 fall against Shady Spring on Tuesday. WestSide has struggled against Shady Spring recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Renegades players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Bishop, who scored 19 points. The match was Bishop's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kadien Vance was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
WestSide's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Shady Spring, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
WestSide is on the road again on Friday and play against Summers County at 12:30 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Summers County is ranked 56th, while WestSide is ranked 55th). As for Shady Spring, they will square off against Elkins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Elkins comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
