The Lower Dauphin Falcons will challenge the Dallastown Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lower Dauphin 3.3, Dallastown 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Lower Dauphin sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Carlisle.
Meanwhile, Dallastown came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bearcats. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Austin Santiago looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kaden Beaverson was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Flinchbaugh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Dallastown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lower Dauphin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Dallastown, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Lower Dauphin came out on top in a nail-biter against Dallastown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
