The Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Demons at 6:30 p.m. Smithfield-Selma has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Smithfield-Selma saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Hartman, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Fike made sure to put some runs up on the board against Southern Wayne on Thursday. The Demons blew past the Saints 10-2. The Demons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th (when they won 12-4).
Daniel Holloman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fike is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-11 otherwise. Holloman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Fike gave Elliott Wheeler the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Carlone, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Landon Cuddington, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Fike kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Fike's record now sits at 5-12. As for Smithfield-Selma, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Fike's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Smithfield-Selma has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. It's a different story for Fike, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain Smithfield-Selma's hitters?
Smithfield-Selma couldn't quite get it done against Fike in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
