The South Harrison Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Gilmer County Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Harrison will be strutting in after a win while Gilmer County will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, South Harrison humbled Ravenswood with a 48-6 victory. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Hawks this season.
Jaden Hatfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 106 rushing yards. Chris Pedraza was another key player, throwing for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
South Harrison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ravenswood only rushed for 37.

Meanwhile, Gilmer County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 63-0 loss at the hands of Wahama. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the White Falcons are ranked 15th).
The victory made it two in a row for South Harrison and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Gilmer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Things could have been worse for South Harrison, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 34-20 loss to Gilmer County in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can South Harrison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
