The Atholton Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Glenelg Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Atholton is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Atholton pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Howard 61-56. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Atholton in their matchups with Howard: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Camden Thibeault, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Amir Shaheed was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Glenelg came up short against Mt. Hebron on Wednesday and fell 56-49.
Atholton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Glenelg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Atholton came up short against Glenelg in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 54-43. Can Atholton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
