The Karns Beavers were the 81-71 winner over the Halls Red Devils when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. Karns fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 52-50.
Jake Lane was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Halls. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lane has scored at least a third of Halls' points. Another player making a difference was Evan Workman, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Karns has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Halls, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Karns will head out on the road to take on the Smoky Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Halls, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Campbell County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
