They escaped with a win against Scotlandville by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. For McKinley, this counts as revenge for the 75-43 defeat Scotlandville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Scotlandville still got an impressive performance from Jamal Drewery, who scored 26 points. Drewery scored a full 55.3% of Scotlandville's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ja'marriyon Brown, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
McKinley's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Scotlandville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKinley will play host again and welcome Capitol, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scotlandville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Eleanor McMain at 5:30 p.m.
