Maggie Walker hasn't had much luck against Deep Run recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Maggie Walker will host Deep Run at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Deep Run will be up against a hot Maggie Walker squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Maggie Walker blew past Henrico 18-1 on Thursday. That looming 18-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Maggie Walker yet this season.
Charlie Fetter and Colton Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fetter pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Moore tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Fetter got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Moore got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Fetter has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Maggie Walker let Carson Holbert and Nate Bertha run wild. Holbert got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Bertha got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Bertha a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Redwine, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Maggie Walker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Deep Run faced off against Hermitage on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.
Kaden Staffenberg looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Henry Jennings, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Jacob Saunders was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Maggie Walker's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Deep Run, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Maggie Walker might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Deep Run in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Maggie Walker have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
