The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Lothrop in their matchups with Ovid-Elsie: they've now lost seven in a row.
Ovid-Elsie had a senior duo take command as Evalyn Cole scored 12 points along with five steals and Braeden Tokar scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. Cole is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hailee Campbell, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
New Lothrop's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Ovid-Elsie, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
New Lothrop will face off against Freeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeland will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Ovid-Elsie, they will be playing at home against Morrice at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morrice's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Ovid-Elsie's offense will have their work cut out for them.
