It was a good run, but the Idea Timberwolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 71-64 to Roosevelt. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malachi Hoston, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Hoston continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Idea were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roosevelt only racked up nine assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Hudgens, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Hudgens is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamall Price, Jr., who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Idea's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idea will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Paul Public Charter International at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Paul Public Charter International has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last four games. Roosevelt will be home for the holidays to greet Eleanor Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eleanor Roosevelt will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 225th in Maryland, while Roosevelt is ranked 12th in District of Columbia).
