Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Latta

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Latta and Green Sea Floyds have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. Latta blew past Green Sea Floyds 19-9. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

BW Berry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Minshew, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI.

Latta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Latta's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Green Sea Floyds, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Latta will challenge Hemingway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Green Sea Floyds, they will head out to challenge Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Marion has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something Green Sea Floyds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
