Natchitoches Central (Natchitoches, La.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 21-14 victory over
Pineville (La.) on Saturday. The Chiefs captured the lead for good when
Robert Woodard thew a touchdown to
Derrion Porter.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 14. The Chiefs took the lead for good on a touchdown pass by Woodard to Porter with 8:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
With the win Natchitoches Central extended its winning streak to six games. NC defeated the Griffins 15-12 last week.
Woodard played well for the Natchitoches school in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
The Chiefs came into the game allowing 14.0 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, Natchitoches Central came away with a 13-6 victory.
Natchitoches Central (6-1) goes up against Ouachita Parish in a 5A District 2 game matchup next week, while Pineville (5-2) locks horns with New Iberia in a non-conference game.
