If the Mooresville Christian Eagles were riding high off their 45-12 takedown of the Heritage Hall Christian Patriots last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mooresville Christian took a 48-31 bruising from Crosspointe Christian Academy on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mooresville Christian in their matchups with Crosspointe Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Mooresville Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cassidy Wright, who scored 12 points.
Crosspointe Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Allison Schellenberg out in front who scored nine points along with six assists and six steals. Schellenberg is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Sharpe, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Mooresville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
Mooresville Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Columbus Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th. Crosspointe Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
