The Westlake Wolverines lost against the Chopticon Braves back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Westlake fell to Chopticon 42-38.
Westlake's loss came despite strong showings from Raynna Ratchford and Emma Fonke. Ratchford scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Fonke scored nine points along with 13 rebounds. Fonke is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Stanford, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Chopticon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will take on Northern at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chopticon, they will head out on the road to face off against North Point at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Point will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
