The Cuthbertson Cavaliers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Marvin Ridge Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Cuthbertson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over the Spartans.
Cuthbertson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Johnson, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mundy, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Porter Ridge by a score of 58-56.
Cuthbertson's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Marvin Ridge, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.
Cuthbertson lost to the Mavericks on the road by a decisive 68-54 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Cuthbertson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
