Sports Leadership & Management is 0-5 against Moapa Valley since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sports Leadership & Management Bulls will head out on the road to face off against the Moapa Valley Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Sports Leadership & Management focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Wednesday.
Sports Leadership & Management struggled with assists on Wednesday (Pahrump Valley had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Sports Leadership & Management was dealt a 57-22 defeat at the hands of Pahrump Valley. Sports Leadership & Management was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Despite the defeat, Sports Leadership & Management got a solid performance out of Tavara Swonger, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Pryatel-Camp, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Moapa Valley waltzed into their contest on Monday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They breezed by Mater Academy East Las Vegas at home to the tune of 65-37. Moapa Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Claire Cox was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Haylie Western, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Sports Leadership & Management and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Moapa Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.
Sports Leadership & Management might still be hurting after the 52-30 defeat they got from Moapa Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Sports Leadership & Management avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
