Meanwhile, Verde Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Leupp Boarding 59-15 at home. That 44 points margin sets a new team best for Verde Valley this season.
Verde Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CJ Wiehl, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zee Dickey, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Sonoran Science Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Verde Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
