After flying high against the Jackson County Panthers last Tuesday, the Lanier Longhorns came back down to earth. Lanier was beaten by Shiloh 76-49 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lanier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Shiloh is ranked 11th).
Leading Shiloh to victory were Jullien Cole and Tylis Jordan. Cole scored 33 points along with seven rebounds, while Jordan dropped a double-double on 28 points and 23 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cole has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Stephen, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Lanier's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Shiloh, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Lanier will head out on the road to take on Habersham Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shiloh won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jackson County at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
