Given Eagle Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Battle Mountain is ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eagle Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Zoller led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Parker Newbanks, who scored nine points.
Eagle Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Battle Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.
