Despite the loss, Denver West still got an impressive performance from Jayden Volion, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Volion pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jacob Dallas was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Marquell Marquez was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight assists and five rebounds for Manual. That's the first time this season that Marquez posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Marco Arriaga, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Denver West's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-1. As for Manual, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Denver West will square off against Northfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denver West in Colorado (Northfield is ranked 30th, while Denver West is ranked 104th). As for Manual, they will be playing at home against Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Forge Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
