Upsala is 0-9 against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Upsala Cardinals will be playing at home against the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Upsala took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 68-28 victory over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.
Upsala can attribute much of their success to Dakota Soltis, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals, and Brenna Graves, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Soltis has scored at least 25% of Upsala's points. Isabel Ripplinger was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 6 steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Central Minnesota Christian by a score of 58-56.
The losses dropped Upsala to 2-3 and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle to 1-3.
Upsala was taken down by Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 76-39 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Upsala have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
