The King Lions won the last time they faced the Brandon Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. King simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Brandon 66-29 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-15.
King had a senior duo take command as Julien Barnett dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jabriel Hakim scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Hakim has scored at least 25% of King's points. Ian McLargin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
King's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.67 points. As for Brandon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
King and Wharton will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wharton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than King in Florida (Wharton is ranked 183rd, while King is ranked 383rd). As for Brandon, they will head out on the road to face off against Spoto at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Spoto is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
