The Baldwin Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Swainsboro Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Baldwin's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Baldwin's and Howard's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Baldwin turned on the heat in the second half with 53 points. Baldwin blew past Howard 77-53. Given Baldwin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Howard is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Baldwin relied on the efforts of Omari Woodard, who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 blocks, and Tremarius Lawrence, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. The match was Lawrence's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Dennis, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Swainsboro had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 81-49 loss at the hands of Veterans.
Baldwin pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Swainsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
