Softball Recap: Lafayette Takes a Loss

If Lafayette was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Carencro last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lafayette Lions fell 12-8 to the Acadiana Rams on Tuesday. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Caroline Terro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kaylee Morgan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1. As for Acadiana, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on Sulphur at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Acadiana, they will head out on the road to square off against Sam Houston at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
