Softball Recap: Foard's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bunker Hill, Foard was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the North Iredell Raiders a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Livi Queen and Alexa Stillwell did most of the damage at the plate: Queen got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Stillwell went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Stillwell has posted since back in March. Aubri Luckett was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Foard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Iredell only posted a batting average of .067.

With the victory, Foard broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-8. As for North Iredell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Foard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-2 win against North Lincoln on the 30th. Hopefully North Iredell paid attention to the Tigers' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
