The Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats will challenge the Millennium Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Venture Academy. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won nine in a row.
Emma Valli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Julieann Drulias was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Mindy Claypool was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Millennium is still undefeated this season after their contest against River Islands on Thursday, but River Islands came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Falcons came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Riptide. The six-run effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The team relied heavily on Nora Coutts, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lanie Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Millennium pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ben Holt College Prep Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millennium struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ben Holt College Prep Academy suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Millennium in their previous matchup back in May of 2018. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
