Basketball Recap: Lake Placid Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jason Baker and Dj Bullard

Lake Placid suffered their closest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Frostproof Bulldogs by a score of 46-43. The Dragons have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Lake Placid had strong showings from Dj Bullard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, and Jason Baker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Baker has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jayden Baker, who posted five points.

Zavier Powell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Frostproof, going 7 of 10 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Mekhi Guillaume was another key player, going 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points.

Lake Placid's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Frostproof, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Placid will host Tenoroc at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Placid is facing Tenoroc at the right time seeing as Tenoroc is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Frostproof, they will square off against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Frostproof will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will have lost six straight heading into Monday's match.
