The River Ridge Royal Knights won the last time they faced the Gulf Buccaneers, and things went their way on Friday too. River Ridge pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over Gulf.
River Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dareal KING, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points KING has scored all season. JONATHAN CASAREZ was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Gulf, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge's homestand continues as they prepare to take on IMG Academy Black at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. IMG Academy Black is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Gulf, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Gulf likes a good challenge.
