The third road contest was the charm for the Schalmont Sabres, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took down La Salle Institute 56-41 on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, La Salle Institute saw an underclassman step up: Kate Gilooly scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 34.1% of La Salle Institute's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Avery Minkewitz was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Schalmont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for La Salle Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Schalmont will be playing in front of their home fans against Cohoes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cohoes is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for La Salle Institute, they will head out on the road to square off against Mohonasen at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
