It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the San Marin Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Kennedy at home to the tune of 48-0. The victory was just business as usual for San Marin, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Charlie Singleton was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Singleton was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Grant Means also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
San Marin's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.33 points. As for Kennedy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
San Marin will be playing at home against Maria Carrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maria Carrillo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 405th, while San Marin is ranked 83rd). Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
