Basketball Recap: Central Jersey College Prep's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Central Jersey College Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of College Achieve Central. If Central Jersey College Prep was looking for revenge after losing 42-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central Jersey College Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carter Staton, who posted 16 points. The matchup was Staton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Lucas Chouloute was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Central Jersey College Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Central Jersey College Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for College Achieve Central, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Jersey College Prep will square off against Belvidere at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for College Achieve Central, they will challenge Voorhees at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
