Geneseo (Ill.) snapped the five-game winning streak of Phillips (Chicago, Ill.), with a 41-8 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Maple Leafs led 41-0 at the half.
Geneseo put up 21 points in the first quarter en route to the win. GHS scored on three rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including two by
Lane Akre.
Phillips' lone touchdown came on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Maple Leafs went into the matchup giving up only 9.5 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Phillips, who notched a 31-21 victory over Evergreen Park in its previous outing.
