The Troy Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 81-43 loss at the hands of Lapwai. While losing is never fun, Troy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Lapwai is ranked 20th).
It was another big night for Kase Wynott, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds for Lapwai. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Wynott has scored at least 25% of Lapwai's points. Ahlius Yearout was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds.
Troy bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lapwai, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Troy will head out on the road to face off against Potlatch at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Potlatch is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Lapwai, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Logos at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Logos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
