There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Mount St. Joseph's sophomore Billy Atkins, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Wise got a 54 - 7 win over Laurel last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Brandon Bell. Bell ran for 185 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Bell as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.

It was a battle of top-notch squads when DeMatha (5th in MD) took on Friendship Collegiate Academy (3rd in DC) last week. DeMatha was able to grind out a solid victory over Friendship Collegiate Academy, winning 27 - 18. 27 is shaping up to be DeMatha's lucky number as the team posted the same point total in its triumph over Franklin the game before.
Movin on Up
Milford Mill Academy has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It put the hurt on Perry Hall with a conclusive 61 - 0 victory. Two standouts for Milford Mill Academy were senior Desmond Shell and sophomore Rishon Holmes; the former earned two touchdowns and 100 yards rushing the ball while the latter threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by six, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
There were a lot of high-scoring contests in the power rankings last week, but the 84-point effort in this one put it right at the top of the list. Landon claimed a 47 - 37 victory over Woodberry Forest. As a result, Landon rose two spots in the power rankings.
