Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Piles Up the Points Against Covenant Christian Academy

Pinecrest Academy won against Holy Spirit Prep last Wednesday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Pinecrest Academy Paladins breezed by the Covenant Christian Academy Rams to the tune of 67-39. The Paladins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Joe Frain was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Michael Lynch, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Pinecrest Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Pinecrest Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Covenant Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-6.

Pinecrest Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-30 loss against Prince Avenue Christian on the 20th. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-30 defeat against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on the 16th.
