On Friday Colton Watkins pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The effort marked the fewest earned runs Watkins has had since back in March of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with less than two walks. This year, he has an ERA of 11.03 over 13.3 innings pitched.

Even though Watkins couldn't lead Foley over Daphne, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
