Football Recap: Garrett Has No Trouble Against Lakeland

Garrett won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Friday too. The Railroaders were the clear victors by a 28-7 margin over the Lakers. The Railroaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brayden Nusbaum had a dynamite game, rushing for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Those 143 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Nusbaum was just one part of a punishing run game: Garrett was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win got Garrett back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garrett will head out to square off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland, they will face off against Angola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Lakers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
