The Cristo Rey St. Viator Royals kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by Pinecrest Academy Cadence 67-26. Cristo Rey St. Viator lost against Pinecrest Academy Cadence in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-16 score last time.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Combs, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Tookes, who scored 15 points.
Cristo Rey St. Viator's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey St. Viator will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Somerset Academy Losee at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
