Ignacio extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 9-7. They lost 12-4 to the Cedaredge Bruins. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Joseph Attencio made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Evan Maez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
As for Cedaredge, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Cedaredge's side, Zach Mannon made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Cedaredge is 6-1 when Mannon allows two or fewer earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Mannon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makai Salazar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Cedaredge: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Carson Rupp was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ignacio will take on Sanford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Cedaredge, they will challenge Meeker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
