3A West Valley recap Oct. 3, 2012
Dayton extended the longest winning streak in 3A West Valley this week by beating Amity, 44-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Horizon Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Hawks vanquished Colton 61-35 earlier in the week.
Willamina's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trevor Hunt threw for 131 and two touchdowns and Edwin Villalobos had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Tyson Jahn chipped in 102 yards. Travis Kurz helped Willamina's passing attack out by catching two balls for 36 yards.
Willamina's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunt has thrown for 301 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Kurz has eight catches for 129 yards. Jahn leads the league in rushing with 322 yards.
A big matchup in 3A West Valley this week will be when Dayton takes on the Vikings. Brodie Unger's team is currently in first, while Colton is in fourth.
The Pirates took down the Warriors 44-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
