The Union City Soaring Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgewood Maroons at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Union City has three straight wins, Ridgewood has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Union City beat North Bergen 56-52.
Meanwhile, Ridgewood ended up a good deal behind Ramapo on Tuesday and lost 59-41. Ridgewood has struggled against Ramapo recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The victory got Union City back to even at 11-11. As for Ridgewood, they dropped their record down to 14-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Union City didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ridgewood in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 68-62 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
